Petar Petkovic, the director of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo and Metohija, said on Dec. 3 that the refusal to certify the Serb List to run in the Dec. 28 elections in Kosovo was "proof of [caretaker government Premier Albin Kurti's agitation and fear of an ultimate debacle at the polls."

"As we have pointed out numerous times, Kurti has nothing to offer his voters but bare-faced hate for everything Serbian. He has no economic program, so he makes desperate moves to artificially keep himself in power," Petkovic said in a press release.

According to Petkovic, by attempting to prevent the Serb List from running, Kurti wants "to force through his darling Nenad Rasic" into the Kosovo Assembly, because "he is well aware that the Serb people do not want him and that he represents no-one but the anti-Serb government in Pristina."

"This is Kurti's third attempt in a year to bar the Serb List from running in an election because only the Serb List fights for the interests of the Serb people and presents a bulwark against Kurti's dream of an ethnically cleansed Kosovo and Metohija. Yet one thing is certain, and it is a lesson Kurti would do well to remember: Serbs will meet every attack on our people and the Serb List with even stronger unity and harmony on Dec. 28," Petkovic said.
