Elections in Serbia (BETAPHOTO/Milan Obradovic)
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's announcements that snap elections may be held in May or December next year are a spin, because Vucic is not an ordinary politician speculating about the election calendar, leader of the opposition Democratic Party Srdjan Milivojevic said on Dec. 5.
Milivojevic said in a statement that Vucic's announcement of elections was "just a cheap attempt to create the illusion of control over the situation which is for him becoming an abyss from which there is no way out."
"The 'May or December' spin is an attempt to hide what really scares him: the work of the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime and the fact that his closest aides, and then he himself, will end up in jail. The later elections take place, the greater the probability that Vucic's polling station will be in Zabela (prison)," said the Democratic Party president.
