A student protest took place in Novi Sad on Dec. 13 in response to police violence against protesters over the past months.

Students and other citizens began a protest march from the University of Novi Sad campus. A sound truck headed the march, while the protesters blew horns and whistles. The protesters stopped in front of the Stari Grad police station then marched past the provincial government, City Assembly, court, prosecutor's office and Security and Information Agency.

The protest concluded with 16 minutes of silence in front of the main railway station in Novi Sad in honor of the 16 people killed after the collapse of a concrete overhang at the station building on Nov. 1, 2024. After the protest in Novi Sad, the Jacimovic transport company bussed the protesters to Backa Palanka, where a rally protesting an incident four months ago when people were attacked with pyrotechnic devices was held.
