Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Jan. 4 that it was clear after the Venezuela operation that international legal order and the U.N. Charter were not working.
After the U.S. operation in Venezuela it is clear that international legal order and the U.N. Charter are not working -- the right of power dominates the world, might makes right, and that is the only principle of contemporary politics in the world today, Vucic told reporters in Belgrade after a session of the National Security Council.
"We want friendship with the United States, but it is up to us to speak up when there is a violation of international law," the president of Serbia said, adding that the people of Venezuela had stood by Serbia, which is why he wanted them to recover and build their country.
Vucic said the reactions from around the world to the news from Venezuela did not mean much. "Whether you express disagreement or agreement, the outcome is the same -- the world is dominated by might makes right, and whoever is stronger oppresses. And that is the only principle in politics in the world today," Vucic said.
