Srdjan Milivojevic (BETAPHOTO/MILAN OBRADOVIC)
The president of the Democratic Party, Srdjan Milivojevic, stated on Jan. 14 that talking with the European Parliament’s mission about European integration should be more important for Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic than going to Davos.
Milivojevic told BETA that Vucic had given up on Serbia’s European integration and that this was why he did not want to meet with the European Parliament’s mission. “During previous visits to Davos, Vucic has shown that he cannot even build a snowman, and his presence at the World Economic Forum (WEF) is pointless. Naturally, it would be much more important that he talks with the mission of the European Parliament that arrives in Belgrade on Jan. 22 and explains why he had given up on European integration,” stated the president of the Democratic Party.
In his words, it is very bad for Serbia that it has a leadership that no longer hides being against European integration. He added that it was unknown who invited Vucic to the WEF in Davos.
He stated that there were several political organizations like the Democratic Party in Serbia, whose goal is Serbia’s EU membership. “Vucic can stop Serbia on its European path (temporarily), but he cannot change that course,” Milivojevic said.
