Radomir Lazovic (BETAPHOTO/MILOS MISKOV)
Co-president of the Green-Left Front Radomir Lazovic stated on Jan. 21 that the topics of a meeting with members of the European Parliament (EP) who are visiting Belgrade on Jan. 22 would be the current situation and the future of Serbia.
“University representatives will meet with them and so will the representatives of the entire opposition and the students; there are alternatives in Serbia, there are politically important people who wish to meet with the special mission (of the EP),” Lazovic said in an interview to TV N1. He added that there were three areas of discussion: the current situation in Serbia, the repression against citizens who protest and further steps that need to be taken.
He said they would also talk about the arrests and pressure against the people who protested. Lazovic also assessed that he laws nominated by a member of the Serbian parliament from the Serbian Progressive Party, Ugljesa Mrdic, were “deepening the problem.”
Lazovic said that they would also discuss what to do next. “How to act in the future, how to exert more pressure toward holding the elections that would be fair as much as possible,” he stated.
