Tatjana Pasic
Freedom and Justice Party MP Tatjana Pasic has been elected vice chairperson of the Socialists, Democrats and Greens Group in a regular session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the party announced on Jan. 28.
"The election of Tatjana Pasic is another important step that affirms the clear commitment of the European Social Democrats to the fight for strengthening democratic and pro-European forces in Serbia and its clear support to the [Freedom and Justice Party] as the largest pro-European political party in the country," the party's press release read.
The statement recalled that the Socialists, Democrats and Greens Group was the largest political group in PACE, which lent Pasic's election additional weight and importance "as an important step toward deeper connection between European and Serbian democratic and integrative forces." At a conference in Amsterdam in October 2025, the Freedom and Justice Party was admitted into membership by the Party of European Socialists, after which it received a seat in the Presidency of that European political organization.
