Differences must be set aside and all anti-regime actors need to unite to ensure an election victory over Aleksandar Vucic’s rule, Green-Left Front caucus head Radomir Lazovic said on March 12 with regards to Serbia’s president and his ruling Serbian Progressive Party.
“The university students, members of the public, civil society, experts, we need them all because Vucic is literally prepared to do anything,” Lazovic stated in an interview for the Vreme weekly.
According to the opposition MP, Vucic wants anti-regime forces divided and the first step toward this end has been the successful isolation of the university student movement from opposition parties.
“We have an entire cast of washed-up politicians attacking the opposition and thereby building ‘legitimacy’ to join the university student movement,” said Lazovic.
The MP stressed that the Green-Left Front supports the university students’ political engagement and made it clear the students have the right to choose their own political direction.
