Health Minister Again Announces Resolution of Surgery Waiting List

All who are on waiting lists for surgery in the healthcare system will be operated on in the next year to a year and a half, Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar has announced.

Although the complete elimination of surgery waiting lists has been announced multiple times in the past, Loncar said this time it would be achieved through additional investment in healthcare, more operations in the afternoons and on weekends, and better work organization.

"Waiting lists exist everywhere in the world. We have shown we can resolve them. Had it not been for the coronavirus (pandemic), today they would be minimal," Loncar told state public broadcaster RTS.
