In the past 17 months, the private polyclinic MD Clinic, owned by Milica Djurdjic, the romantic partner of Ana Brnabic, the Serbian Parliament speaker and official of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party, was awarded a number of contracts by state companies, mostly without a competitive tendering procedure, in a total value of around EUR800,000, local media outlets reported on May 5.

According to portal Nova.rs, the contracts, referring to preventive medical examinations for employees of state companies, were all, but one, awarded to MD Clinic, without a tender.

The state institutions and companies which awarded contracts to MC Clinic include the Office for Youth, the public utility company Belgrade Waterworks and Sewerage, the Administration for Joint Services of the Republic Bodies, and others, according to media.

The portal reports that it has contacted MD Clinic for comment about the awarded state contracts and a potential conflict of interest, but has received no reply.
