Green-Left Front presidency member and MP Dobrica Veselinovic said on May 14 that the party's decision to support the student ticket is a response to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's "smokescreen," and that it is therefore short-term and the most logical.

In an interview with the Vreme weekly, Veselinovic said that he does not believe that elections will be held in the summer and still believes in the "broad cooperation of everyone." "Not just strictly on the opposition scene and among students, but also on the union scene, in civil society, the free media. These are unprecedented times and we do not have the luxury of divisions, breaking off, leaving people on the side and for someone to get angry," Veselinovic said.

He said that "it is counterproductive to go into the makeup of tickets before elections have been called, let alone collect signatures - everyone knows that tickets are changed until the moment that they are submitted." Asked about several parties and public figures unconditionally supporting the student ticket, he replied that "I see no point in the existence of political parties or organizations that 'unconditionally' support something that lacks a clear structure, program and plan."
