The Socialist Party of Serbia should not run in the upcoming general election in coalition with the Serbian Progressive Party, Goran Trivan, a senior official of the ruling Socialist party, said on May 29.
He told the Danas daily that the Socialists have initiated preparations for a party congress that is to take place before the general election.
"When exactly that will happen I do not know, but I do know that the Socialist Party of Serbia should not run in the upcoming election in coalition with the Progressives," he said.
Trivan thinks that is not good for the Socialists, "not just from the standpoint of mathematics, but also identity."
"Whether we will be in coalition with the Serbian Progressive Party again should be decided after the election," said Trivan.
