Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic appeared 1,172 times on the front pages of six pro-government daily newspapers in 2025, and none of the articles portrayed him in a negative light, Raskrikavanje portal’s study revealed.

Raskrikavanje reported that Vucic was portrayed positively in 88 percent of cases, while in Kurir the share reached a “perfect 100 percent.” Vucic appeared most often on the front pages of Srpski Telegraf – 253 times, followed by Kurir with 236, Alo with 202, Informer with 185, Vecernje Novosti with 171 and Politika with 125.

Raskrikavanje also analyzed the six papers’ manipulative front-page news in 2025, saying there were 1,800 such articles. Alo led the way with 529 such texts, followed by Informer with 399. They were followed by Srpski Telegraf with 294, Politika with 253, Vecernje Novosti with 197 and Kurir with 191.

“While students were blockading faculties and citizens were taking to the streets, Serbian tabloids knew exactly what their job was – to portray the citizens and students protesting as terrorists and a security threat (...) Among the key topics on their front pages were precisely student protests, blockades and citizens’ gatherings,” Raskrikavanje wrote.

Manipulating facts and bias were by far the most common techniques used by pro-government tabloids, while Vecernje Novosti almost specialized in propaganda, which accounted for half of its manipulative content. “Almost half of the manipulative articles were published without the name of the author, with Kurir holding the record there as more than 90 percent of them were unsigned,” while “every fourth manipulative article in Srpski Telegraf referred to anonymous sources,” the portal said in the report.
