Serbian Progressive Party leader Milos Vucevic announced on July 3 that both presidential and parliamentary elections will probably be held in the fall and added that the party has not discussed potential presidential candidates.

"We have not discussed candidates at all, nor are we thinking in that direction. Our candidate will be one who is worthy of that candidacy and who can win, whom citizens can support, regardless of whether they are or aren't a member of a party or whether they are a man or a woman. The most important thing is that they are a quality and responsible person worthy of performing that office and, of course, that they can win," Vucevic said in an interview with the Kompas weekly.

He added that "it is unquestionable that both a general and a presidential election is expected."

"I do not know whether they will happen simultaneously or separately, but if the president of the Republic is announcing that he will resign in a couple of weeks, that means we also have a presidential election ahead of us," said Vucevic.
