Vucic: Talk between Chief of Staff and KFOR Commander Probably the Worst So Far

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Aug. 11 that a talk between Serbian Army chief of staff Milan Mojsilovic and KFOR commander Ozkan Ulutas on the withdrawal of members of international forces from the Ibar bridge in Mitrovica, was "probably the worst so far."

During a tour of southwest Serbia Vucic told reporters that Ulutas told Mojsilovic that "there is no problem" and that Kosovo police will operate alongside KFOR.

"Really, no problem? Well then, now we see why you did all that in 1999, we understand everything. From that aspect, at least we know who we are dealing with, just don't pretend that you support a dialog, because you are not for dialog. Were you for dialog, the Albanians would have met their obligations from the Brussels agreement, and they had only one," he said.

The international peacekeeping military force of Kosovo (KFOR) said on Aug. 10 that the gradual transition of the permanent presence of its members on the main bridge over the Ibar between north and south Mitrovica (the Albanian and Serbian parts of the city) has begun and that the process is the result of an improvement in the security situation in Kosovo and is part of the process of gradually lessening KFOR's presence."

Commenting on a reaction by an European Commission spokesperson on his announcement that the Ibar river will be rerouted, Vucic said that "they reacted promptly to that, to protect their Albanian lackeys and tell them yet again to continue committing crimes."

The rerouting of the Ibar, he said, is far-off, because a working group needs to be formed first and experts found.
