On Aug. 11 in the Zubin Potok village of Dren, Kosovo Police entered and searched the home of Nenad Raskovic, after which they brutally beat him, attempting to coerce a war crime confession, the Serb List reported in a late night Instagram post following the incident.

“According to [Raskovic], after taking him to the nearby woods, [the police] tied him to a tree and brutally beat him with a water pipe, causing multiple injuries [including], based on initial findings, several broken ribs. Raskovic said that, during the abuse, they demanded he admit to committing war crimes against Albanians during the war,” reads the caption accompanying pictures of Raskovic’s severely bruised back.

Following the assault, the post explains, Raskovic was left tied to the tree. Friends eventually freed him and took him to the Zubin Potok Health Clinic. From there, he was transfered to the Kosovska Mitrovica Clinical Hospital Center, where he finally received medical attention.

The Serb List vehemently condemned Raskovic’s vicious treatment, adding it has requested an urgent, independent and thorough investigation into the incident, including determining the responsibility of everyone involved.
