Milos Vucevic, the president of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party and the presidential advisor for regional matters, said on Aug. 13 that he believes snap parliamentary elections will take place in less than 100 days and called on all political actors to be prepared, both to campaign and to accept the results of the vote.
“According to the Constitution and the law, the president of Serbia is the authority in charge of calling elections and I believe they are less than 100 days away. Those who are currently on vacation should prepare to campaign if they plan to participate,” Vucevic told the RTS public broadcasting service.
In the former prime minister’s opinion, anyone running in the elections should issue an official statement guaranteeing they will accept the electoral will of the people.
On behalf of the ‘United Serbia – Aleksandar Vucic’ ticket, Vucevic said he has already stated that the will of the people will be honored, regardless of the outcome of the vote.
