Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Aug. 16 that he will call elections "very soon" or in 15, 20 or 25 days.

He told Informer TV that he will meet the demands of the student protest movement. The student protest movement and opposition parties have been calling for extraordinary parliamentary elections for some time.

Vucic said the duration of the campaign as prescribed by the law is between 45 and 60 days for parliamentary elections, and somewhat less for presidential elections.

"I will call elections very soon. Everyone could be surprised, and the campaign will be a long one," said Vucic, a member of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party.
