New Democratic Party of Serbia Will Run Independently, but Is Ready or Post-Election Collaboration

In the upcoming parliamentary elections, the New Democratic Party of Serbia will run independently as the NADA coalition, together with the Monarchists, the royalist movement, but believes that post-election collaboration of all opposition parties is necessary in the form of a caretaker cabinet for to replace the incumbent government, party leader Milos Jovanovic said on Aug. 24. 

“We will run for what we stand for politically and ideologically - as an authentic right-wing political option, which means that the right-wing is a genuine opposition option and will, together with all other opposition parties and movements, take part in changing the incumbent government after the elections. It is difficult for someone to be called a right-winger and to keep in power the regime which has recognized the secession of Kosovo and Metohija, which is so anti-Serbian and has been fundamentally destroying this country,” Jovanovic said.

After the elections, the current government must be replaced, he said, adding that “the authentic political right-wing” will give its full contribution to that end. 

Asked whether this contribution means a post-election coalition with other opposition parties, Jovanovic replied that “it certainly does.”
