Commission for Electoral Roll Member: Not A Single Minister Has Done Anything to Put Electoral Roll in Order Since 2012

Ognjen Rasuo, member of the Commission for Revising the Electoral Roll from the Green-Left Front, said on Sept. 3 that former minister Branko Ruzic, but also every other minister of state administration since 2012 did nothing to put the electoral roll in order.

"They inherited an electoral roll that was made so as to require updates and changes over time. They simply kept it in the state that they found it, without any interventions," Rasuo told the Nova newspaper. Rasuo believes that the ministers thereby "allowed irregularities to accrue and be abused."

The single electoral roll was created by merging the individual voter rolls kept by municipalities and city administrations, slightly before elections in 2012. "The electoral roll needs to be updated, changed and potential problems solved. All of the ministers since 2012 neglected to do so and by not solving the problem made manipulations during the electoral process easier through all of the chaos," Rasuo said.
