Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut said in London on Oct. 2 that digitization is one of the prerequisites for modern, efficient and easily accessible public administration.

He said this while speaking with representatives of the Oracle company, who presented their experiences in the process of digital transformation of the public sector. Macut said new technological solutions should be used to allow citizens to exercise their rights and access state services more simply and quickly.

"Digitization is not an end in itself. Its true value is measured by how much easier it makes people's lives, how much more efficient it makes state administration and allows us to make sounder decisions," his office quoted him as saying.

Macut visited Cambridge University's Christ's College, where he discussed establishing stronger institutional cooperation with universities and scientific institutions in Serbia. He also toured AstraZeneca's research and development center in Cambridge.
