The student Petar Zivkovic said on Oct. 5 that the police have been following him and fellow students, describing several examples, including his personal observations in front of the building where he lives.
Zivkovic told a news conference of the university student protest movement ticket The Students Will Win that he and fellow students were "aware of being followed, recorded, surveilled etc. for months and even longer than a year," noting that this has been taken to a new level starting Sept. 25.
He recounted that he saw several vehicles and persons near his building in the night of Oct. 3 and 4, and that Criminal Police Administration head Marko Kricak was among them.
He listed several similar experiences of fellow students, adding that his car was taken from in front of his building to a Parking Service public utility company lot, purportedly due to a report and illegal parking, and that he had reason to suspect that the vehicle was there bugged or fitted with a tracking system.
Zivkovic recalled that the student movement has warned about the illegal use of Pegasus software for surveillance. "They spied on us, now they are physically following us. What next?" Zivkovic asked.
The attorney Vladimir Tupanjac said the police must explain what the purpose of the actions described by Zivkovic is. "It's not the police who come to the citizens' doors. This is the behavior of some other groups from different circles," he said.
