Savo Manojlovic, leader of the Get Going for Change movement, has said that the United Serbia election ticket lead and former Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic is planning to appear on N1 or Nova S TV, describing that as part of a broader media operation aimed at, as he put it, taking control of public information ahead of the Oct. 25 elections.

"Vucic is planning on appearing as a guest on N1 or Nova S. The whole time he had been in power he did not dare show up before N1 journalists, and later before Nova S journalists either. Now, when he has arranged the purchase of the media outlets, he is appointing his own editors and wants to bring in his own journalists, and planning to 'bravely' appear on one of these two televisions," said Manojlovic.

He tied Vucic's potential appearance to changes in the media sector, claiming that the authorities are striving to establish control over those TV stations.

According to Manojlovic, the regime's objective is to establish full control over the N1 and Nova S televisions ahead of the elections, so as to affect the way they report on the election results.

"Vucic does not have a majority. But he will attempt the media operation 'Darkness'. Before the elections he must completely take over N1 and Nova S in order to control the narrative during election night," the Get Going for Change movement leader said.
