The Belgrade City Assembly failed to form a quorum for its session scheduled for Oct. 13, which should have discussed the dismissal of Mayor Aleksandar Sapic over his alleged physical attack on an opposition alderwoman.

Belgrade City Assembly speaker Nikola Nikodijevic, said that only 47 out of a total of 110 aldermen were present, and rescheduled the session for Nov. 23.

The motion for Sapic’s removal was initiated following the Get Going for Change movement’s accusations that the mayor had physically assaulted their alderwoman Tatjana Micic, who, according to the movement’s claims, had suffered fractures of her nose and upper jaw.
