Milorad Dodik, who was stripped of the presidency of Republika Srpska by the Bosnian Central Electoral Commission based on a verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Aug. 23 nominated Savo Minic of Samac for premier designate for the new government of Republika Srpska.
The aforementioned was reported by the SRNA news agency which also said that Dodik had sent the nomination to the National Assembly "as authorized by Article 80, paragraph 1, item 2 and pursuant to Article 94, paragraph 10 of the Constitution of Republika Srpska." Minic is a member of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats and the sitting minister of agriculture, forestry and water management of Republika Srpska.
Savo Minic was born in Samac on Sept. 5, 1974. He graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Bankaluka in 1999 and passed the bar examination before the Serbian Ministry of Justice in 2003. He practiced law from 1999, running his own practice as an attorney in Samac from 2004 to 2008.
He served two terms as head of the Samac municipality (2008-2016). From 2017 to 2020 he was the director of the Agency for Agrarian Payments at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Republika Srpska.
