The Montenegrin government has branded one passenger jet of the national carrier Air Montenegro with a message about Montenegro becoming an EU member by 2028.
The airplane is branded with a slogan in English reading: 28 by 28 The next EU member, implicating that Montenegro would become the 28th EU member in 2028.
The Ministry of European Affairs of Montenegro announced on Feb. 26 that the branding of the jet was one in a series of activities to be realized in cooperation with institutions, commerce, artists, scientists and athletes, aimed at informing the domestic and European public about Montenegro’s results in the process of European integration.
The Montenegrin government is starting the final phase of the negotiation process with the EU, with a clearly set dynamic and full accountability, and expects the crucial steps to be confirmed within the forthcoming months, stated the Ministry of European Affairs of Montenegro. Prime Minister Milojko Spajic has stated that the message on Air Montenegro’s airplane was “not symbolic, but a strategic declaration of the state” aimed to spread the message throughout the EU that Montenegro is the next member of the bloc, the media in Podgorica have reported.
