Seven Public Enterprises Becoming Limited Companies

Seven public enterprises, including the Serbian Post, the Putevi Srbije road company and the Srbijavode water utility have become limited companies, it was announced in the latest issue of the Official Gazette.

Per the Law on managing companies owned by the Republic of Serbia, the government has adopted a decision to change the legal status of certain large and important public enterprises.

Among the outfits that will be limited companies going forward are the Emisiona tehnika i veze electronic communication network installation company, the Zavod za udzbenike textbook publisher, the Sklonista Beograd bomb shelter company, and the Mreza-Most public enterprise for broadcasting information through electronic media in the Serbian language in the Kosovo and Metohija autonomous province.

Decisions were also made to amend the founding articles to define management bodies and equity.

According to the publication, the limited companies will be assuming the full assets of the public enterprises.
