Mihailo Jovanovic, director of the Serbian Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment, said on Dec. 22 that the World Bank's latest report listed Serbia as second in Europe and sixth globally in the digital transformation of public administration.

"A value of 0.977 of the composite index of the maturity of digital administration (GovTech Maturity Index) allowed Serbia to move up five spots on this global list since 2022, winning our country a high first place in the region, ahead of Albania, Slovenia, Croatia, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina," a press release quoted Jovanovic as saying.

He said that continuing investments in the development of electronic services, user oriented solutions and a modern digital infrastructure had yielded measurable and internationally recognized results.

The WB has been publishing the GovTech Maturity Index since 2020 to provide insight into the state of digital transformation in 198 economies.
