On May 28 in Beijing, Serbian Minister of Economics Adrijana Mesarovic and top Chinese companies signed commercial agreements worth over EUR953 million and entailing nearly 1,700 new jobs, the Serbian Ministry of Economics has announced.
The signings were attended by President Aleksandar Vucic, who is on multiday visit to China.
The deals involve Minth Group investing in Loznica and Sabac, SHAC and BMTS Technology investing in Novi Sad and Xingyu Automotive in Nis, while two other companies announced plans to invest in Serbia as well: Linglong Tire in Zrenjanin and Yusei in Nis.
“These agreements represent a strong boost to the further development of Serbia’s automotive and high technology industries and confirms our country is today one of Europe’s most attractive investment destinations,” Mesarovic stated.
The minister also underlined the importance of the newly-opened China-Serbia Youth Cultural Exchange Center in Jiaxing, where young people from Serbia will have the opportunity to garner knowledge and experience in contemporary technologies, innovation and industrial development.
