NIS Submits New Request to U.S. Department of the Treasury for Operating License

The Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) has submitted a new request to the U.S. Department of the Treasury for a special license that would allow it to continue operations without interruption after Aug. 28, when its previous license expires, the company said on its website on Aug. 21.

In the statement, NIS thanked the domestic and foreign institutions supporting efforts to make it possible for the company to continue operating smoothly, bearing in mind the company's important role in ensuring reliable supply of petroleum products to the domestic market.

NIS is under U.S. sanctions because of Russia’s majority stake in the company.
