Kosovo Assembly (BETAPHOTO/ARMENIJA ZAJMI BESEVIC)
After a months-long standstill in the process of forming Kosovo’s new governing bodies, some progress was made last week, although the institutional crisis is not over. Dimal Basha’s election as Speaker of the Assembly is politically problematic, while the failure to elect a deputy speaker from the Serb community is a legal problem. This situation still suits premier of the caretaker government Albin Kurti, who has failed to secure a majority for creating the cabinet.
