Aleksandar Martinovic (Beta/Milos Miskov)

Ruling Serbian Progressive Party caucus whip in the Serbian parliament Aleksandar Martinovic is an extreme populist who is always ready for a brutal confrontation with his opponents.

Martinovic is a professor of law and ideologically a radical nationalist. In politics, which is his basic interest, he places the current interests of his party above all else including legal and other arguments.

In May 2020, after Dveri movement leader Bosko Obradovic began a hunger strike on the steps to parliament, demanding that elections be postponed, Martinovic began his own hunger strike in the same spot. His demands were that the judicial authorities prosecute Obradovic for allegedly physically attacking Serbian Progressive Party MP Marijan Risticevic.
