A new wave of attacks against inspector Slobodan Milenkovic, chief of the Belgrade police narcotics department, has begun after former interior ministry state secretary Dijana Hrkalovic recently accused him of drug dealing, although she did not corroborate her claims. Milenkovic came into the limelight now after news broke that in 2019 he played the main role in uncovering Europe’s largest marijuana plantation, Jovanjica, near Belgrade, and that he arrested the owner Predrag Koluvija. The reason why the authorities are cracking down on Milenkovic is precisely his work on the Jovanjica case.
