Jelena Zoric (BetaPhoto/Milos Miskov)
Jelena Zoric, a journalist of the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) and weekly Vreme, is one of the most famous media personalities in Serbia. Although she also attracted attention with her reporting from the violent protests in July 2020 and from the so-called “red zones” in COVID-19 hospitals, Jelena Zoric’s name is primarily linked to an investigation into connections between state structures and organized crime, including the Jovanjica affair, which she has been focusing on lately. That has resulted in her facing pressure and numerous threats.
