Nikanor Bogunovic (BetaPhoto/Branislav Bozic)
Serbian Orthodox Church Bishop of Banat Nikanor, whose secular name is Veljko Bogunovic, has drawn a hail of reactions for his hate speech toward the LGBT population, Croats and Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and threat that he would use guns if he had any against the participants of the upcoming EuroPride in Belgrade. Nikanor’s hate speech and threats were condemned by numerous public actors, including the country’s highest officials, but not the Serbian Orthodox Church.
