The Serbian interior minister, Bratislav Gasic, also a member of the Presidency of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party, has been in the spotlight since two deadly mass shootings that shook Serbia early in May. Even though part of the public wants Gasic to resign, voicing a demand for his resignation during the massive anti-government protests “Serbia against Violence” that followed the two tragic attacks, he won’t do it. Gasic enjoys strong support by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, also at the helm of the ruling Progressives, who is thus sending multiple messages to his voters and members of the party.
