Serbia Reports 785 Infected Persons, 16 Die

Forty-four new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 785. Three people have died, raising the death toll to 16, Dr Predrag Kon, an epidemiologist, reported.

Having said that the number of new cases had dropped over the past two days, Dr Kon said at a regular press conference that it couldn't be bad, adding though that it might be only "a brief break."

The epidemiologist said that 540 patients had been hospitalized by the noon, in addition to 33 infected people at Belgrade's Fair. Sixty-two patients are using ventilators.

Dr Kon said that most of the infected people in Serbia were "people who work."
