Four people died in Serbia in the past 24 hours from the consequences of the corona virus, while 219 more infected were registered, which raised the number of the infected to 2,666, it was announced on April 8.

The deputy director of the "Batut" public health institute, Darija Kisic Tepavcevic, said at a news conference that the total number of victims of the corona virus was now 65.

Epidemiologist Predrag Kon stated that figures showed that the corona virus epidemic in Serbia was now at its peak and that "there can be no mention now of abolishing the measures for preventing the spread of the disease."

He stressed that the next eight to ten days were the most important, because that is the start of the sixth week, and that a decrease in the number of new cases should be expected after that.

Kon stated at the news conference in Palace Serbia in Belgrade that he was advocating a full cessation of contacts and that the decision on the curfew from Friday, April 10, at 5:00 p.m. to Monday, April 13, at 5:00 a.m., was completely in accordance with his recommendation.
