180 Police Officers Infected with Coronavirus

The Serbian police director, Vladimir Rebic, said on April 22 that the novel coronavirus infected 180 police officers, and that most of them had less severe symptoms.

Rebic said in an interview with the Pink TV that five police officers had pneumonia, three had trouble breathing, one was in semi-intensive care, while seven members of the Ministry of the Interior, police officers or staff, died.

"When we faced the disease most of the police service didn't have proper protective gear, only the border police did," Rebic explained.

The police director also said that 5,300 people had been processed for having violating the lockdown measures.
