The Norwegian embassy in Serbia, working together with the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED) and the Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Government, provided masks, gloves, face shields and sanitizers for 620 inspectors of Serbia's market, sanitary, healthcare and labor inspectorates, in order to protect them while overseeing different operations to curb the spread of the coronavirus, the NALED reported on May 11.

The donation, handed over in a ceremony attended by Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government Branko Ruzic, was part of support provided under the project "Strengthening Inspection, Administrative and Judicial Oversight over the Work of Inspection Services in the Republic of Serbia" financed by the embassy and conducted by the NALED, in collaboration with the Ministry.

"We would like inspectors in Serbia to enjoy equal respect to that enjoyed by inspectors in Norway, because they do deserve it, particularly after their immeasurable contribution to the fight against Covid-19," Norwegian Ambassador Jorn Eugene Gjestad said, thanking inspectors for contributing to the stability of the market and health of the citizens during the state of emergency.
