The Polish PEPCO retailer of apparel and home equipment announced on July 2 that it would open its first stores in Serbia in the fall and that 100 workers would be hired before the end of the year.
The chain plans on opening 30 stores in its first year in Serbia making Serbia the 13th European country that it operates in, while its first store will open in Belgrade in October.
PEPCO has over 2,000 stores in the Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Polland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania and Bulgaria while it plans on opening its first stores in Italy in September.
PEPCO is one of the largest sellers of children's clothing in the region of central and eastern Europe with over 19,000 employees.
