The Serbian Ministry of Interior on July 27 received a donation from China in the form of equipment for preventive technical protection and medical protective equipment, worth around EUR630,000.
The Ministry said in a press release that a portion of the donation, which includes a walk through metal detector, scanners and devices for detecting various materials, would be handed to the Security Unit, adding that 40,000 masks and 1,000 protective suits and goggles had been delivered as well.
Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said that "the Serbian state and people extremely appreciate and will never forget" China's help, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.
Ambassador Chen Bo said that the "excellent" cooperation between the Serbian Interior Ministry and the Chinese Ministry of Public Security helped to improve bilateral relations and cooperation in different areas.
