Slobodan Prvanovic, a researcher at the Belgrade Institute for Physics said on Aug. 20 that the Serbian State TV stations' employees had a chance to restore the journalistic profession's reputation and called on them to return dignity to the citizens "and themselves."
"You are the key pillar of this warped regime, your silence, your turning of your heads, your stooping. You can have a key role in saving Serbia from a total catastrophe. It depends on you, your directors of photography, cameramen, producers and female producers, your organizers and female organizers, your assistant directors, directors, audio and lighting experts, scenographers, journalists and female journalists, playwrights... It depends on your honor and fairness," Prvanovic said in an open letter to the station's employees.
He also said that it was the obligation of all of the station's employees to report on all events in the country in accordance with the law.
