Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who is on a two-day visit to Brussels, said on Sep. 7 that he had a “very good talk” with EU Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Verhelyi.

"Many thanks to Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Verhelyi for the significant support the EU provides by contributing, economically, politically, and value-wise, to Serbia’s progress. Special thanks to the commissioner for having time to lend an ear to Serbia’s representatives, no matter how strange this might sound. [It was] a very good talk,” Vucic wrote on the Future of Serbia AV Instagram profile.

Vucic, who posted a photograph of himself with Varhelyi, on Sep. 6 also met with EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak and U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary Matthew Palmer.

On Sep. 7, Serbia’s president is to meet with Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti. The Brussels meeting, hosted by EU High Representative and Foreign Policy Chief Joseph Borrell and Lajcak, represents a continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue on the normalization of relations under the EU auspices.
