The COVID-19 Crisis Headquarters decided on Sept. 28 to loosen certain preventive measures as the situation in Serbia has stabilized. This means that cafés, bars and restaurants that have indoor seating can stay open until 11 p.m. but they have to adhere to all other mandatory measures.

After the meeting, epidemiologist Darija Kisic Tepavcevic called the epidemiological situation is Serbia very stable, yet volatile, with a few dozen new cases being registered each day.

She said that a total number of people in a closed space has to be proportional to the size of the facility, with distance between the patrons being at least one and a half meters.

Organizing cultural and sport manifestations, including fairs, however, is still not allowed.

According to Kisic Tepavcevic, since the beginning of the school year the situation in schools has been quite stable. During the initial four weeks, only a single case of local transmission was registered, she added.
