Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin visited Belgrade's multi-purpose indoor arena Stark Arena that has been reconverted into a temporary coronavirus hospital on Oct. 19, due to a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases in Serbia.

"Responding to the latest Covid-19 developments, the Army of Serbia has again prepared Stark Arena for coronavirus patients. We are prepared to accept them as soon as health authorities ask us to. The same people who endured the first two waves of Covid-19 are here again. They are ready, trained and well-supplied. Everything doctors and technicians may need is available here," Minister Vulin said after the tour.

The new hospital was cleansed and disinfected over the weekend, and additional beds and diagnostic equipment installed.

According to the Arena hospital's chief medical coordinator, Colonel Predrag Bogdanovic, 150 new beds have been added on the 3rd floor, allowing Arena to house a total of 510 patients.
