Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Sem Fabrizi and Serbian Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Branko Ruzic promoted on Nov. 23 a new campaign, "Education Matters," intended for students, parents, teachers, professors and general public as well.
In the next 30 days, during the breaks between online lessons aired by the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS), everyday situations that make schooling important and interesting will be presented in sketches featuring Serbian famous actors, Ivan Bosiljcic, Kalina Kovacevic, and Bojana Stefanovic, the EU Info Center reported.
The Vojvodina national broadcaster will broadcast the videos in the languages of ethnic minorities. Since the coronavirus pandemic broke out, the European Union (EU) has donated more than two million euros to adjust the national education system to remote learning.
"This is what the EU supports in Serbia's education system. More than 40,000 education workers have gained new skills and knowledge based on professional training programs. A total of 175 vocational schools have been modernized, and modern curricula have been developed for new education profiles, corresponding with the requirements of Serbia's labor market. More than 300 primary and secondary schools have been renovated, equipped and modernized based on EU funding," Fabrizi explained.
