An international immunization consultant at UNICEF and the World Bank, Dragoslav Popovic, on Dec. 8 said that 2021 would be the year of vaccination.
He told state public broadcaster RTS that more Covid-19 shots would be arriving over the next few weeks and months, which would better the situation in terms of their availability and price.
“The goal of vaccines is to help us to boost the level of herd immunity at a very low price,” Popovic said, adding that jabs would “not hurt” even those who had recovered from Covid-19.
Popovic also said that most vaccines required two doses and that they would provide protection against the virus only after the second dose. He added that health workers would be first in line for Covid-19 vaccines and then higher risk groups.
