Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic has said that Serbia can expect the first batch of coronavirus vaccines by the end of the year and that Serbia would be among the first few countries to obtain one.

Brnabic was quoted as saying by the Belgrade media on Dec. 12 that her recent statement about the vaccine was misinterpreted, and that what she actually said was that only one company had stated that Serbia could not expect a vaccine before December 2021.

"We've been negotiating with all companies...Serbia is no longer the state it used to be, but one with a solid political standing and credibility. We will really have the vaccine by December," Brnabic clarified.
