The aid of Serbian companies to Croatian citizens in the areas affected by the recent earthquake has nothing to do with nationality, but solidarity, Serbian Chamber of Commerce
President Marko Cadez said on Jan. 13.
Cadez urged Serbian companies and businesspeople to contribute as much as they can so that, in cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, a temporary accommodation can be provided for the Croatian citizens who lost their homes, the Chamber’s press release reads.
Cadez told the RTS public service that the local companies such as the Eliksir Group, Tigar Company, Delta Holding, Nelt, Jafa Crvenka, which are doing business in Croatia, have immediately joined the aid drive.
“This is not a question of nationality, but solidarity. We are assisting Croatian citizens, be they Serbs or Croats…” Cadez said and added that Croatia needs a very concrete assistance – heating devices, equipment for temporary accommodation, and construction and other material.
He recalled that the Chamber of Commerce had already handed over EUR50,000 to the Croatian charge d’affaires Maja Bogdan, for the purchase of temporary accommodation facilities for the citizens in the areas affected by the earthquake.
